Spent some time over the past month making the literature sections of each Zimmer product easier to navigate, and adding new content, too!
Slowly but surely fleshing out the part cross reference section - keep the suggestions coming!
Expanded the section about the Zimmer Corporate history with lots of news articles from the era - you may be surprised to know that Zimmer actually got started in the 1930s!
Interviewed Pete Morley, a product development guy at Zimmer in the 80s, last month and got some new photos (you won't believe the Zimmer Ultralight aircraft they were planning) and editing the video of my conversation with him - look for it soon.
Zimmer QuickSilver #860020 - widely regarded as the lowest mileage QuickSilver with just 500 miles on it - has just been listed with no reserve on Bring A Trailer!
Hot weather outside and in the garage means more time inside to add new content!
Yet another new Golden Spirit - this one from 1986/87 - and the premiere issue of the Zimmer Update company newsletter (January 1984) have been uploaded today!
We have also been compiling names and positions of former employees and finally have a good-sized list that appears to cover at least one person from most of the Zimmer Corporation and it's subsidiaries. Got any others we should add, or know how to contact any of these people? Let us know! We've also moved the old "help wanted" ads to this page, too.
The recent sale of the QuickSilver on Bring a Trailer and the lively discussion brought some traffic to the site and also resulted in a few more cars that will be added to the registry later this month.
Did you know that Zimmer also did conversion vans, custom trucks, yachts and more? We've been looking for as many details as we can find about these other Zimmer vehicles and have added what we have found so far on the Other Zimmer Vehicles page. If anyone knows more details about these, please contact us!
Also, the long-awaited reproductions of the Zimmer QuickSilver Owner's Manuals - each is hand signed by D.A. Johnson - are ready and available for purchase here!
This update includes also Golden Spirit #1241 submitted by the owner - thanks Kevin! Help us learn more about the Zimmer Golden Spirit and QuickSilver by adding your car to it's respective registry - contact us for more details!
This week's updates include:
#860031 appeared for sale on Ebay recently, and #7101 came up for sale In Massachusetts - both were added to the registry...
Reproductions of the Zimmer QuickSilver Owner's Manual will be available later this month - and each copy is signed by the designer, D.A. Johnson! Stay tuned to see how to get yours...
Been taking some time getting QuickSilver #7149 ready for Radwood Austin in April, but just got an owner submission for Golden Spirit #424 - thanks, Alan!
Will upload a few new pieces of literature in the coming weeks and have a new product announcement or two, as well - stay tuned!
Uploaded scans of the "Best of Both Worlds" brochure on the Literature page...nice photography and back covers shows the very rare four-door Golden Spirit "personal limousine" models. If you have a four-door Golden Spirit, please contact us!
A new addition to the Golden Spirit Registry, #1335 was also added since our last update.
Finally, if you haven't seen our Instagram page, check it out and follow us!
The full 46 minute interview with Don Johnson, designer of the QuickSilver is now posted along with the prototype QuickSilver development slideshow.
A very special thank you to Don for graciously sitting for the interview and allowing us to share these never before seen photos with QuickSilver owners and fans.
By popular request, "for sale" pages have been added for both the QuickSilver and Golden Spirit, which resulted in some layout changes.
The "Wild Golden Spirits" page has been added, too!
