1982 Golden Spirit #280

VIN: 1FABP10D0CF145382

Photos and description courtesy of Laferriere Classic Cars.

1982 Zimmer Golden Spirit, factory built by Zimmer Motor Co.

This 1982 Zimmer is one of the most sought after color combinations when it comes to Zimmers, Rich Red with a light tan leather interior. Recaro front seats with power seat backs.  Built on a brand new Ford Mustang,  with a 5.0 V-8 Mustang engine with just over 24,000 miles. Automatic transmission, power windows, power steering, power seat backs. Nardi wood steering wheel, wood on dash and console, teak on the running boards. Dual German crystal vases with flowers,  rose etched glass on the wing vents  dual vanity mirrors and an am/fm stereo with cassette.

Twin side cowl lamps, dual fog lamps, 4 trumpet horns, and chrome wire wheels. Light tan padded roof and trunk area, with leather trunk straps. Wool carpets, including in the truck. The unique look of this car is rounded off with a gold eagle hood ornament.

This Zimmer is a great driver, still retaining its original 1982 paint, so the buyer should expect some flaws and paint cracks with a close inspection.  The A/C blew cold when we charged it, however after sitting for a day or two it didn’t, therefore there is a freon leak somewhere.  The car runs well, drives, steers, stops very nicely, however the next owner should plan on another set of tires, as these are the originals from 1982.  We have put over 300 miles on this Zimmer since we had it and it sure is fun!  Whether taking it to your local car show or running errands around town, you’re sure to get looks everywhere you go.
